The Board of Directors of the Chamber of Engineers of the Republic of Srpska informs the public that it has received information about the Proposal for Amendments to the Law on Spatial Planning and Construction, which is scheduled for consideration and adoption by the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska under an urgent procedure. Having this information, at a meeting with the relevant minister and his team, held on 02.12.2025., we opened this topic, where the minister informed us about the basic details of the proposed amendments and informed us that the text of the amendment to the law has already been sent to the Government of the RS for further adoption.

Considering that these are amendments to the systemic law that regulates the field of spatial planning, design and construction, the Chamber of Engineers of the Republic of Srpska, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Spatial Planning and Construction and the Statute of IKORS, has a legitimate and significant interest in its improvement in a direction that contributes to the quality and development of engineering practice.

The Board of Directors took the position that the aforementioned Proposal should be returned to the regular procedure instead of the urgent one, in order to enable a professional, comprehensive and transparent insight into the proposed changes. To this end, IKORS will form a working team that will analyze the possible impact of the changes on the engineering community, and prepare proposals and comments to improve the legal solution.
